This was our first Irish trip and we wanted to do it right. Massachusetts based Tenon Tours coordinated all aspects of our 10 day journey thru Ireland and connected us with Eddie McDonald, of A Rural Experience, to manage all the personal driver/guide logistics. What a tremendous experience we had with Eddie! From meeting us in Dublin through navigating down to Kinsale, up to Killarney and past Galway to Ashford Castle in Cong, Eddie was outstanding in so many different ways. His knowledge of Ireland, places to see, great picture stops, where to have a good meal while making us laugh along the way earned him the nickname “The Professional”. Yes, we saw the castles, cliffs, ruins, bogs, animals, stone circles and even a boarder collie field trial demonstration with Joe Joyce in the hills outside of Cong. I do believe, since Eddie was that good, that he personally arranged for the fabulous weather we had along the way. Should you be lucky enough to meet him, ask about Willie Nelson and he’ll reveal his west Texas twang while keeping you amply supplied with water. The Professional clearly loves his family & country and we were fortunate to have him share his insights with us. A Rural Experience is a top notch, family run organization. We encourage anyone interested in having a knowledgeable & fun companion, while seeing the Irish countryside, to book time with Eddie….he’s one of life’s great experiences!…and will be remembered for a long, long time….Thank You!
